Troubleshooting Tables
Note
Before running diagnostics, terminate the SCSI B. This
eliminates any external problems.
Table 5–21 Drive Problems
Symptom
Possible Cause
Corrective Action
Drive does not work.
Two SCSI identifiers
are set to the same ID
number.
Issue the SHOW DEVICE
command while in console
mode. Reset the SCSI IDs to a
unique number. Make sure that
all installed devices are present.
The cables are loose.
Verify that all cables are
securely connected.
The drive is defective.
Run diagnostics to isolate the
fault. Replace the FRU.
Cables are terminated
incorrectly.
Verify that the last device is
correctly terminated.
Network
Problems
Table 5–22 lists the symptoms, causes, and suggested actions
for network problems. If the suggested actions listed do not
correct the problem, then verify that all cable connections are
secure. If cable connections are correct, then execute the ASIC
and NI diagnostics while in service mode (for extended testing
capabilities). See Chapter 4.
