Console LED
Codes
This section lists error codes that may appear in the last test
sequence before entering the console program.
If the power-up sequence is successful, the diagnostic LEDs DD
hex code and the console (>>>) prompt appear. These are the
only indications that the system has entered console mode.
If the system does not enter the console program, use Table 10–8
to isolate the failed FRU and reseat the system module.

84 Fail Message
Overview
The message
84 Fail
is a general-purpose failure message that
can appear under two conditions:
•
Using the TEST command
If an
84 Fail
message occurs during a TEST command, a
diagnostic error code appears on the screen also. Disregard
the
84 Fail
message and rely on the error code information.
•
Using the BOOT command
If an
84 Fail
message occurs during a BOOT command, the
probable cause for the failure is one of the following:
–
Boot device is not present.
–
Boot device is present, but there is no media installed.
