The controller BIOS read-only memory (ROM) provides Int 13h functionality
(disk I/O) for the virtual disks connected to the controller. You can boot from
or access the physical disks without the need of a driver. Table 7-1 describes
the error and warning messages for the BIOS. Table 7-2 describes the error
messages for the Battery Backup Unit (BBU).

BIOS Disabled. No Logical
Drives Handled by BIOS
This warning message displays after you
disable the
ROM
option in the
configuration utility. When the
ROM
option is disabled, the BIOS cannot boot
to INT 13h and cannot provide the ability
to boot from the virtual disk.
Int 13h is an interrupt signal that supports
numerous commands that are sent to the
BIOS, then passed to the physical disk.
The commands include actions you can
perform with a physical disk, such as
reading, writing, and formatting.
