Getting Started
1. In the Gen5 Task Manager, select
Experiment > Create using an existing protocol
.
2. Select the desired protocol and click
OK
.
3. Select a plate in the menu tree and click the
Read Now
button.
4. When the read is complete, measurement values appear in Gen5. Select the desired
data set from the Data list.
5. Select
File > Save
and give the file an identifying name.

Recommendations for Optimum Performance
General
l
Microplates should be clean and free from dust or bottom scratches. Use new
microplates from sealed packages. Do not allow dust to settle on the surface of
the solution; use microplate covers or seals when not reading the plate. Filter
solutions to remove particulates that could cause erroneous readings.
l
Although the
Synergy LX
supports standard flat, U-bottom, and V-bottom
microplates, when using absorbance, the reader achieves optimum performance
with flat-bottomed wells. See
Appendix A, Specifications
for more information on
the supported plates.
