You can run the tests from the Quick Launch screen (without pinning them), or you can
pin a test to the Quick Launch screen by 1) selecting the pin icon, and then 2) either
accepting the default test name or entering a different test name for the test when
prompted. This allows you to be more descriptive about the test configuration. For
example, if you pin a 1 GigE Layer 2 Ethernet test that is configured to transmit VLAN
tagged frames, you can append the default test name with “VLAN” to indicate that the
test was configured for VLAN tagged traffic.
Launching a test from the Quick Launch screen
To launch a test from the Quick Launch screen
1 If the Quick Launch screen did not appear by default when you turned on your
instrument, on the Main screen, click
Select Test .
The Quick Launch screen appears.
The All Tests and Hide Tests buttons are used to display or hide the Test Menu to
the left of the screen; the Customize button is used to maintain and customize the
list of tests that appear on the screen.
2 If the test you want to launch appears on the screen, select the test; otherwise,
customize the screen to add the test (see
“Customizing the Quick Launch screen”
on page 111 ), then select the test on the Quick Launch screen.
3 Wait for the test to launch and appear on the Main screen, then proceed to “Step
2: Configuring a test” on page 113 .
The test is launched.
Customizing the Quick Launch screen
Using the Customize Test List dialog box, you can add shortcuts to new tests, add
saved tests, and rearrange, rename, or delete existing tests that appear on the screen.
To customize the Quick Launch screen
1 On the Main screen, click Select Test .
The Quick Launch screen appears.
2 Select the Customize button at the bottom center of the screen. The Customize
Test List dialog box appears.
