Loading a clip for remote control

To complete the remote control setup process, you must “load” a clip or media file for playback.

IMPORTANT!

If a clip file is placed under remote control using the Sony protocol only playback operations are

supported. If the Odetics protocol is used, the remote edit controller may be used to record/create new clips but
may not be used to append to existing clips. Only QuVIS Virtual Tapes may be edited (insert and assemble)
remotely using the Sony RS-422 protocol. See section

Edit a Virtual Tape

for more details.

From the

Play Browser (1/5)

menu page, select the clip (media file) you wish to place under remote control.

Note:

Even if you are using the

Odetics

protocol you need only to select a single file. Once the file or clip has

been loaded, the Odetics controller is presented with a list of available clips in the directory specified by the

Odetics Clips Directory

setting.

2.

To “load” the selected clip or media file, press the VTR

PLAY

button. Playback of the “loaded” media file on the

Acuity may now be controlled using the remote serial controller.
