Configuring the Number of OST Replication
Streams
There are two types of replication streams used on the DXi6900-S system.
Traditional Replication
and
OST Replication
. Traditional replication is used for replicating data between two DXi systems.
OST
Replication
is dedicated to NetBackup OST replication.
The default number of
Traditional Replication
streams is 8 and the number of
OST Replication
streams
is 2. If you want to increase the number of
OST Replication
streams, you must decrease the number of
Traditional Replication
streams on the source system (see

Caution:
If the maximum number of
OST Replication
streams is increased on the source without a
corresponding decrease in the number of
Traditional Replication
streams, replications and other
operations will begin to fail because the maximum number of blockpool connections will be exceeded.
Both of the number of
Traditional Replication
streams and the number of
OST Replication
streams are
controlled by configurable variables.
Note:
To change the number of traditional and OST replication streams, a reboot of the target system
is necessary.
