1. Holding the card by its edges, position the card so that the connector on the expansion card aligns with
the expansion card connector on the riser (see
Figure 69 on the previous page
).
2. Insert the card-edge connector firmly into the expansion card connector until the card is fully seated.
3. Replace the expansion card latch.
Note:
To install a full length card, use the supports provided on the cooling shroud.
4. If applicable, connect any cables to the expansion card.

8. Run
Factory Detect Hardware
from the
Service Menu
to detect the new hardware (see

9. In the remote management console, delete any administrative alerts and close any service tickets.
Note:
Installation of new Fibre Channel cards will change the world wide name (WWN). Review
and modify SAN zoning and tape library host mappings as needed.

Obtaining a Replacement Integrated Storage Controller
Before beginning the replacement procedure, make sure that you have the required replacement kit. The
appropriate replacement integrated storage controller will be provided by Quantum Customer Support (see
).
You will need the following items to perform this procedure:

Replacement integrated storage controller kit provided by Quantum Customer Support.
l
ESD grounding wrist strap (included in the replacement kit)
