Replacing Node Power Supplies
Quantum DXi6900-S Field Service Manual
79
Not lit
Indicates power is not connected. (May also indicate power supply failure.)
Green
Indicates a valid power source is connected to the power supply and that the power
supply is operational.
Flashing amber
Indicates a problem with the power supply.
Flashing green
When hot-adding a power supply, this indicates that the power supply is mismatched with
the other power supply. Replace the power supply that has the flashing indicator with a
power supply that matches the capacity of the other installed power supply.
Caution:
All power supplies are hot swappable. When replacing power supplies, never remove more
than one power supply at a time from the system. Also, before you remove one power supply, make
sure the other power supply is operating correctly (indicator handle is green).

Removing a Failed Power Supply from the Node
To remove the failed power supply from the DXi6900-S Node:
Caution:
Make sure to remove the failed power supply (amber or dark LED handle) and not the
functioning power supply (green LED handle). If you remove the functioning power supply, power will
be lost to the Node, and data loss may occur.
1. Disconnect the power cable from the power source and the failed power supply (see
).
2. Remove the power cable from the strap.
3. Press the release latch and slide the power supply out of the chassis.
