Chapter 5: Maintenance

To install the Windows NT Remote Access Server Service (cont’d):

18. On the Microsoft TCP/IP Properties window:

Click the

button.

19. Remove the Windows NT CD-ROM from the CD drive.

20. On the dialog box asking if you want to restart your computer:

Click the

button.

The new settings will be written to the hard drive, but the computer must be rebooted in order
to activate these settings.

21. Click the Yes button on the dialog box to reset the computer.

Installing the NT Server Service Pack 5

To install the NT Server Service Pack 5:

1.

Insert the NT Service Pack 5 CD-ROM in the CD drive.
The Autostart program should display an installation instruction document.

2.

Click the Install Service Pack 5 hyperlink line in the left column.

3.

If you see a Confirm File Open dialog box:

Click the

button.

4.

Uncheck the Backup files necessary to uninstall this service pack at a later time check box.

5.

Check the Accept the License Agreement check box, and click the

button.

The SP4 files will be copied.

6.

When you see the dialog box announcing that the files have been successfully copied:
Remove the CD-ROM from the drive, and then click the Restart button on the dialog box to
reboot the computer.
The computer will reboot. You will see a Windows NT Service Setup dialog box asking if you
would like to view the Y2K text file.

7.

Click the No button on the dialog box.
