Distribution Lists

A distribution list is used by a caller to have the Voice Mail send (distribute) the same recorded
message to everyone whose mailbox is listed. A special number or name identifies each distribu-
tion list. Each mailbox on the distribution list may belong to a member of a particular department.

Distribution Mailbox

A Distribution Mailbox is assigned to a distribution list. To send a message to each mailbox on any
distribution list, the caller presses one of the following and then enters the number of its assigned-
Distribution Mailbox:

Q

RS to record and send a message, OR

Q

MF to forward a recorded message, OR

Q

FD to record and send a message.

Typically, you can create up to 100 distribution lists in your Voice Mail system, but the upper limit
for distribution lists in your Voice Mail system depends on how your system was configured by the
manufacturer. Each of these lists can include Subscriber, Guest, or Message Center Mailboxes.
However, the total number of mailboxes on all of the distribution lists cannot exceed the total num-
ber of mailboxes in the system.

If you send a recorded message to a distribution list that contains your own mailbox number, the
Voice Mail will not send the message to you.

To create one or more distribution lists:

Follow the instructions in this section. Later you can create a Distribution Mailbox and assign a dis-
tribution list to it. (For instructions, see Customizing Mailbox Options, Distribution Mailbox on
page 167.)

To access Distribution Lists:
