General Tab
The General tab displays a Key Action and a Key Number for each key listed on the Dial Action
Table and for the TIMEOUT function.
Key Action
is the call-routing option assigned to dialpad key 0 - 9, *, and # or to the TIMEOUT function. The
value in the Key Action field specifies how the call is to be transferred (routed), when a caller dials
the key associated with the Key Action. DAT Key Actions include these call-routing options:
Undefined Routing
does not assign an action to the key. When a caller presses a key that you have programmed as
Undefined (UND), the Voice Mail will say, That is an invalid entry.
Screened Transfer to an Extension
lets a caller make a screened transfer to a Subscriber, Guest, or Message Center Mailbox or
extension by pressing a dialpad key or dialing the extension number. If the extension is busy or
cannot be reached, the Voice Mail will retrieve the call and then let the caller know the options
resulting from the incomplete transfer. The Voice Mail will play one of the following, depend-
ing on the circumstances:
Q
Extension XXX is busy.
This may also play when the extension is in Do Not Disturb.
Extension XXX does not answer.
Extension XXX does not exist.
This plays when there is no match in the Voice Mail system for what was dialed.
Extension XXX is not available.
This may play when the extension is in Do Not Disturb or when a Subscriber Mailbox
blocks Automated Attendant transfers and does not have a Next Call Routing Mailbox.
For more information on blocked Automated Attendant calls and Next Call Routing Mail-
boxes, see the Subscriber Mailboxes section of the Customizing Mailbox Options chapter.
However, the caller will not hear these voice prompts if any of the following features are
enabled for the Subscriber Mailbox:
Q
Call Waiting
Q
Call Announcing
Q
Call Queuing
Q
Forced Unscreened Transfer
Q
Recorded Paging Message (Park/Paging string). In addition, the caller will not hear the
voice prompts when this feature is enabled for Guest and Message Center Mailboxes.
To leave a message, press 1.
After pressing 1 and leaving the message, the caller can do one of the following:
Q
Hang up.
Q
Press # for the Automated Attendant, who will redirect the call to the Instruction Menu
for the Call Routing or Directory Dialing Mailbox that originally transferred the call.
Q
Press a key to re-route the call if placed to a Subscriber or Message Center Mailbox
(extension). This option is available only if the Subscriber or Message Center Mailbox
has a Next Call Routing Mailbox or Alternate Next Call Routing option. (For informa-
tion about other dialing options within a mailbox, see Alternate Next CRMB Dial
Option under Subscriber Mailbox on page 260 of the Customizing Mailbox Options
section.)
For other options, press 2.
Or after pressing 2, the caller can return to the Instruction Menu for the Call Routing or
Directory Dialing Mailbox that transferred the call.
