Follow the prompts that will appear according to the option you selected.

Selecting the Boot Mode

This function allows you to select the device to boot from and the interface to boot
to. To select a boot sequence:

1. Select Select Boot Mode from the main menu.

2. The Boot Sequence Selection Menu is displayed as shown in Figure 4-10.

2) Service prompt from Harddrive
3) Service prompt from Recovery Block
4) Normal Boot

8) Return to Previous Menu
9) Issue Reset

3. Select one of the options.

Bootstrap Menu

Selecting this option causes the IBM 2212 to boot to the Bootstrap
menus. The IBM 2212 will continue to boot to the Bootstrap menus
until you select a different boot mode.

Service Prompt from Hard Drive/Compact Flash

Selecting this option causes the IBM 2212 to boot to the service
recovery menus (

SVC>

) and load the operating system from the hard

drive/compact flash. The full operational code is not loaded.

Service Prompt from Recovery Block

Selecting this option causes the IBM 2212 to boot to the

SVC>

prompt

and load an

abbreviated version of the operational code from the

system card flash (the

recovery block). Use this option if the operational

code on the hard drive/compact flash is corrupted.

Normal Boot

Selecting this option causes a normal boot of the full operational code,
including the router code, from the active bank on the hard
drive/compact flash.

Return to Previous Menu

Selecting this option causes the IBM 2212 to return to the Bootstrap
Main Menu.
