| 4. If you have a Model xxF, grasp the tab attached to the compact flash feature
| and pull the card from its socket.
| 5. To remove a PMC Adapter from the system board:
| a. Remove the screws that attach the PMC Adapter to the PMC stand-offs.
| (See Figure 2-4 on page 2-8.)
| b. Gently raise the PMC Adapter from the rear of the high-performance
| system card and slide it out of the back of the system card.
| 6. Remove the two screws and standoffs from the rear of the new PMC Adapter.
| 7. Slide the new PMC Adapter into the slot from the back of the high-performance
| system card.
| Note: Hold the PMC Adapter at an angle, as shown in Figure 2-4 on
| page 2-8.
| 8. Lower the adapter so that the PMC Adapter connectors are aligned with the
| sockets and keying post on the high-performance system card. Apply slight
| pressure to the PMC Adapter until it is seated firmly.
| 9. Insert two screws through the bottom of the system board into the PMC
| Adapter studs, and tighten them. (See Figure 2-4 on page 2-8.)
| 10. Insert two screws through the top of the PMC Adapter and tighten them. (See
| Figure 2-4 on page 2-8.)
| 11. If you have a Model xxF, slide the compact flash feature into its slot, applying
| slight pressure until the connector is attached to the socket.
| 12. Slide the system card along the grooves in the slot and secure the two levers.
| To lock the card into place, pull each lever inward.
| 13. Reattach the external cables to the high-performance system card.
| 14. Power on the IBM 2212 by plugging in the power cord.
| 15. Verify the LEDs. See “LED Indicators” on page 1-2.
| 16. Notify the network administrator that you are finished repairing the IBM 2212.
