procedure. Go to Step 001 on page 1-9.

There is a network or IBM 2212 problem. Check the following in the order listed:
1. Verify that the cables are securely plugged in.
2. Check the status of the network and the software configuration for the interface:
a. Contact the network administrator and determine if the network is
experiencing problems.
b. At the command-line interface, check the errors being logged for the I/O
port interface and the status of the interface:

To check the status of the interface, see “Displaying the Status of An
Interface” on page E-15.
For a more detailed status of the interface, at the GWCON ( + ) prompt,
use the network
interface# command to display network statistics for
the interface. Refer to the Access Integration Services Software User’s
Guide and see the monitoring chapter associated with the network
interface.

To view the errors being logged for the interface, access the
command-line interface’s error logging system (ELS) and display the
errors for the interface type. (See “Displaying the Error Logging System
(ELS) Messages for an Interface” on page E-7 to access the ELS.)
c. The adapter hardware (I/O drivers or receivers for example) could be
defective. Using the operational diagnostics, run an interactive test with a
wrap plug, if available, on the I/O port. See “Testing the Adapters” on
page 6-8 to run the diagnostics.
Correct any problem that you find. Restart the verification procedure. Go to Step
001 on page 1-9.
