Verifying Site Preparation

Verifying Site Preparation includes two tasks: gathering LAN information and verifying electrical
requirements.

Gathering LAN Information

The LAN connections to a Superdome can be extensive. The time it takes to install the system can be reduced
dramatically when the LAN information from the customer is readily available. Gathering the correct LAN
information is part of the site prep process. Ideally, you got this information before you arrived at the site;
however, if you did not, have the customer get the IP addresses you need while you are unpacking the system.
To help you get the information you need, remove the “Superdome LAN Interconnect Diagram” in Appendix C
and have the customer fill out the table that accompanies the diagram.

Verifying Electrical Requirements

The site should have been verified for proper grounding and electrical requirements prior to the system being
shipped to the customer. Grounding should have been done as part of the site preparation. Before you unpack
and install the Superdome, verify with the customer that grounding specifications and power requirements
have been met.

The grounding specifications and electrical requirements for the system are thoroughly discussed in the Site
Preparation Guide, which can be found on the Hewlett Packard Web site, http://docs.hp.com.
