Verifying Presence of UGUY and Cells

Step 2. From the command prompt (GSP:CM>), enter

The

du

command displays the GSP Bus topology; that is, the entities that are present on the USB.

A screen similar to the following appears:

Step 3. Verify that there is an x in the columns marked GSP, CLU, and PM.

An x appears in the GSP column only if you are installing cabinet 0; that is, the cabinet containing
the GSP. If you are installing an SPU cabinet into a complex (where other Superdome systems are
already present), an existing cabinet is designated cabinet 0, because it contains the GSP for the
complex. Remember that a Superdome complex contains more than one cabinet; however, there is
only one cabinet that contains the GSP, and that is cabinet 0.

If the x is missing from the CLU or PM columns, refer to the Troubleshooting Tool Kit on your
EPSS CD-ROM (or Web site).

Step 4. Verify that there is an * for each of the cells installed in the SPU cabinet, by comparing what is in

the Cells column with the cells located inside the SPU cabinet.

Figure 4-2 shows that cells are installed in slots 0, 2, 4, and 6. In the SPU cabinet, there should be
cells physically located in slots 0, 2, 4, and 6.
