3.5.3 Making external calls
Note
Automatic routing to exchange / telephoning with initial 0. The device offers individual
subscribers the possibility of configuring automatic routing to exchange or telephoning
with initial 0. If Automatic Outside Line is activated, when you lift the receiver you are
automatically switched to an external connection and hear the permanent dialling tone.
You can thus start dialling an external number. If you have configured telephoning with
initial 0, you must dial a
before dialling an external number. When you lift the receiv-
er, you hear the internal dialling tone.

The following operation sequences are described for the works setting of initial 0.
You have three ways of making an external call using the device.
• Via the DSL connection.
• Via the ISDN connection.
• Via the analogue connection (FXO).
3.5.3.1 Selecting the external connection method
Lift the receiver and dial
- the device attempts to connect to the first registered SIP pro-
vider in the list. If no connection can be made, it will automatically fall back on the ISDN
connection or the external analogue connection. If no fallback connection is possible, you
will hear the engaged tone. You can configure the sequence in which the external connec-
tions are attempted.

Note that if you switch to another network, you may incur additional costs from this net-
work provider.
Automatic route selection
You can define which external connection is to be carried out via the ISDN or DSL connec-
tion. Up to 50 automatic route selections can be defined in the configuration. You can enter
complete telephone numbers (up to 20 digits) or partial telephone numbers in the automatic
