the same as the permanent dialling tone, as fax machines need this
to function correctly.

3.5.3.9 Direct call
You are not at home. However, there is someone at home who needs to be able to reach
you quickly and easily by telephone if necessary (e.g. children or grandparents).
As you have set up the Direct Call function for one or more telephones, the receiver of the
telephone simply needs to be lifted. After five seconds, the device automatically dials the
defined direct call number if nothing else is dialled in the meantime.
You can enter the telephone number of the subscriber to be be dialled. If you want to
change an entered direct call number, you can simply enter the new direct call number
without deleting the old direct call number. You can set up the direct call using the configur-
ation or using a terminal (up to 10 direct call numbers).

Note SIP terminals cannot use this function.
Preparing direct call with defined telephone number
Lift the receiver of your telephone. You hear an internal dialling tone.

You hear the positive acknowledge tone, then the special dialling
tone. Direct call is switched on.
Replace the receiver. If you lift the receiver again, the entered direct
