telephones, and to receive these messages from them.
MMS
If MMS-enabled (multimedia messaging system) analogue or ISDN terminals are connec-
ted to the device, photos, plans, audio and picture messages can be sent and received.
Sending an MMS
You create an MMS with the terminal, and can group together individual pages of texts, im-
ages and audio files.
The message can be sent to all telephone numbers in the fixed network and mobile net-
work and to e-mail addresses. Messages up to 500 KB are possible in the fixed network
and 100 KB in the mobile network.
Larger messages (max. 500 KB) should only be sent to e-mail recipients. If an MMS is lar-
ger than 100 KB, the recipient must be able to receive this MMS. It is currently not possible
to receive an MMS of more than 100 KB in the mobile network.
The sender's telephone number is always transmitted to the recipient of an MMS (even if
telephone numbers are suppressed).
Receiving an MMS
To receive an MMS with an MMS-enabled terminal, the calling line identification (CLIP) per-
formance feature must be set up for the connection. If an MMS message is received, the
terminal first receives a non-visible, coded SMS. Based on the terminal settings, the related
MMS message is then transferred to the terminal.
Receiving MMS with your PC in
Standby mode
(MMS notification)
If your PC has the ACAPI/S1 function, you can also receive messages over the LAN if your
PC is in
0"-
. An incoming message wakes up your PC. Via the Service indic-
ation and the subscriber number, an appropriate installed program, e.g. T-Com MMS, is
started for this message. Once the message is processed, the PC can switch back to
standby mode, according to the Energy Options settings.
For the "Receive MMS in standby" function, some configuration of your PC is required.
These wake-up functions depend on the network card and operating system of your PC.
For this function, your device supports Magic Packet Technology. You must therefore set
up this function in your network card. For more information on configuration, please see
your operating system help and the description of your network card.
