Chapter 3 User's guide for telephone functions
The device includes a PBX for connection to an ISDN connection (S0) or external analogue
connection (FXO/S0). The ISDN connection can be used as a point-to-multipoint or point-
to-point connection with the Euro ISDN protocol (DSS1). The device has an internal ISDN
connection to which ISDN terminals can be connected by means of the RJ45 connection
sockets. Please note that not all the ISDN terminals available on the market can use the
performance features provided by your device via their key interface. Two analogue termin-
als with the internal numbers 10 and 11 can be connected via integrated connection sock-
ets (FXS1/FXS2). Analogue terminals should dial in using the MFC method and have a
flash button. Terminals that dial in using the PDM method cannot use the functions or keys.
In the ex works setting, the internal extension numbers are 2-digit; the configuator can be
used to set up 3-digit numbers. All connected terminals must be permitted by the "T Ter-
minals Policy" or the "R&TTE Policy".
Note
In the ex works setting, the ISDN point-to-multipoint connection is set up.
3.1 Intended use
• The telephone part of your device is intended for the ISDN point-to-multipoint connection.
Two independent, external connections (e.g. telephone calls) can be established over the
two B-channels of this ISDN connection.
• The device supports voice over IP from all internal telephones. Internal telephony and ex-
ternal telephony over DSL, ISDN or the analogue connection are possible.
• The device has an internal ISDN point-to-multipoint connection on which up to 8 ISDN
terminals or ISDN system telephones can be operated. Up to 2 terminals can be oper-
ated simultaneously on the internal ISDN connection. The maximum supply power is 2
W.
• With system telephones on the telephone part, you can make the best use of the per-
formance features and system functions (for more information on system telephones and
system functions, see the CD-ROM provided).
• The device enables you to connect up to 2 analogue terminals such as telephones, fax
machines, answering machines, modems or multifunctional units. The 2 connections for
the analogue terminals are permanently set up for the tone dialling method (MFC).
• An intercom system, e.g. Eumex DoorLine 210, can be connected to one of the internal
analogue connections.
