3.5.7 Settings via the telephone
You can also make the following settings in the configuration.
Permit/lock call waiting for another call
With the Call waiting function, you can still be reached during a call. If a further party calls,
you will hear the call waiting tone in your receiver and can then decide whether to continue
the existing call, talk to the waiting party or forward the call. Call Waiting is possible on ana-
logue telephones. The telephone number of the person whose call is waiting can be dis-
played on the analogue telephone if this telephone has the necessary performance feature
(CLIP off Hook) and has been given authorisation in the configuration. For ISDN or SIP ter-
minals, please see the relevant section of the relevant user's guide. On analogue tele-
phones, if a call is waiting while you are making a call and you ignore the call waiting tone,
it is turned off after around 30 seconds. On analogue telephones, you can prevent calls
waiting while you are making a call by locking the Call Waiting feature.
Note
SIP terminals cannot use this function.
Permitting Call Waiting

tone.

7
to switch on the feature.

dial tone.
