3.5.4.3 Talking to two subscribers simultaneously (three-party conference)
A three-party conference is possible with the device. Three subscribers (up to two external
subscribers) can hold a conference call. The conference ends when the initiating sub-
scriber replaces the receiver. A subscriber included in the conference can hang up at any
time; in this case, the initiating subscriber continues the call with the remaining subscriber.
You can start a three-way conference call from an existing call by including a waiting call or
a call that is on hold in the conference. If you are holding a three-party conference with two
external ISDN subscribers, a B-channel of an ISDN connection is needed for each of these
subscribers. If, after a three-way conference, you revert to switching between callers, you
will again be connected with the party with whom you were connected before the confer-
ence. The other subscriber is on hold. You can hold a three-party conference with external
and internal subscribers.
• If analogue terminals are used, the three-party conference is initiated via a device pro-
cedure.
• For ISDN telephones, operation depends on the terminal. For more information on the
function, please consult the relevant user's guide.
• SIP telephones must use their own operating functions.
