4.4.1.3 Updating Software Via a Memory Card
Note:
GUI Software V1.2k onwards supports Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000 &
XP. GUI Software V1.2j and earlier supports Windows 95, 98 & ME only.
The application software can be updated using an SFM (Serial Flash Module)
Card (914-440). This Card plugs directly into the GUI CPU.

This method has the following advantages:
• The service engineer does not need to use a laptop computer (or
similar) in the field to update the software
• The technique is simple and fast
• The SFM Card and SFM Parallel Port Programmer are inexpensive
• Several SFM Cards can be carried by service engineers, should they
need to have ready-access to several versions of the software in future
• The information stored on an SFM Card can be overwritten, and it can
be used many times

using this method.
