Control Panel (DigiVAC Standard)
3.3.2 Engineering Mode
The DigiVAC standard has an Engineering Mode whereby different functions
are assigned to the Control Panel keys.
Enter Engineering Mode by pressing the grey button (SW4) located on the rear
of the Control Panel PCB (see Section 4.1.8). [

] will be displayed briefly
on the display and the red LED 4 will illuminate.
To gain access to the rear of the Control Panel, remove the two M5 button
screws and lift off the top cover of the drive unit.
Warning
The Collator must be switched on to enter engineering mode. Be careful not to
touch any of the electrical components in the Drive Unit when performing this
operation.

: Display and LED Test:
Tests the display and LEDs. Press

again to
end the test.

: Keyboard Test.
Tests the function of the Control Panel keys. The left
hand two digits display the key code of the last button pushed, the right hand
two digits show the key code of the key being pressed. If no buttons are
pressed, this should be 00. To end the test press
"
twice.
"
: Bin Cycle Access.
The display will clear, then on pushing the on/off but-
ton of a bin, the cycles count total will be shown. The display will first show
thousands, followed by HTU (hundreds, tens, units). The cycle count incre-
ments in 50s, so run lengths of less than 50 will not register.
Batch Mode Select.
Initialise modules. Forces initialisation of the feed and
base module control PCBs. The display will flash [
1nit
] before reverting to
[
EnG
] on completion.

: Calibration of the SPH control knob.
Carefully remove the knob cap
and adjust the knob position until the decimal point of the centre digit is illu-
minated. Replace the knob cap, aligning the pointer to the 2000sph marking.
Press

again to end.

: Bin Addressing:
The

LED will flash to indicate that the bins are being
prepared for addressing (unlocking the EPROM etc.) and then will remain
steady to indicate addressing mode. The display will show [
bin 1
]. Press the
on/off button on bin 1 steadily and the panel will beep and move on to bin 2.
