5. Remove the sensor from its housing and pull the cable away from the tray.
6. Take the replacement sensor cable assembly and place the sensor into its
housing, making sure that the sensor is facing upwards. (Note: If the sensor
is located correctly, it will not fall out of the housing.) Push the plastic
cover back on, to hold the sensor in place.
7. Remove the backing tape from the sticky strips on the sensor cable and fix
the cable into place on the underside of the paper tray.
8. Thread the end of the cable through the hole in the side of the bin module.
9. Push the end of the cable into the connector on the feeder control PCB.
Make sure that the metal contact is facing to the front of the machine
(towards the bins).
10. Switch on the mains power and test that the sensor is operating correctly.
11. Re-fit the side cover.
3.5.8 Set the Separator Stop Plate
If a DigiVAC bin feeds doubles or tears the leading edge of the paper exces-
sively the paper separator plate may need to be adjusted.
To check the setting:
1. Set the separator lever to its minimum setting (fully down).
2. From the front of the machine, insert two 0.9mm feeler gauges under each
side of the separator plate. If the separator is correctly positioned, the
gauges should fit securely but be able to slide comfortably.
To adjust the setting:
1. Set the separator lever to its minimum setting (fully down).
2. Open the rear door and remove the rear conveyor.
3. Remove the appropriate rear deflector plate.
4. Remove the appropriate conveyor shaft by pushing it to the left against the
spring pressure and lifting the R/H end clear.
5. Slightly loosen the two nuts which retain the separator plate to the machine
frame, so that the plate can just be moved.
