Trouble Shooting
•
Poor feeding
See also:
‘Bin is miss-feeding’
‘Bin feeding doubles’
Feeder clutch is faulty due to ‘feeder
creep’.
Replace feeder clutch (see Section
3.5.3)
Dry or dirty feeder clutch pulley bearing
Lubricate and clean feeder clutch pulley
bearing (see Section 3.5.4)
Bin feeder drive belts are too loose
Re-set the bin feeder drive belt tensions
(see Section 3.5.12)
Bin module drive belts are too loose
Re-set the bin module drive belt ten-
sions (see Section 3.5.14)
Main drive belt needs tensioning
Check that the tension is set to a mini-
mal on the main drive belt (see Section
3.6.10)
Conveyor wheels are worn or dirty
Replace conveyor wheels (see Section
3.5.16)
Rubber feed band needs replacing
Replace feed band by removing the
feeder head assembly (see Section
3.5.2)
Main air filter needs cleaning or replac-
ing
Clean or replace main air filter (see Sec-
tion 3.6.5)
Paper is outside specifications
Accurate feeding of paper outside speci-
fication may not be possible
Bin is miss-feeding
Too much separation
Decrease by moving the separator
adjustment lever down by a small
amount
Untidy loading
Reload the bins tidily. Make sure paper
added to the bin sits squarely on the
existing stack
Miscalibration during the first set
Unlock the machine and then restart so
that the machine recalibrates
Paper is badly curled
Eliminate the curl from the paper
Feeder vacuum valves need cleaning
Clean feeder vacuum valves (see Sec-
tion 3.5.10)
Feeder vacuum valves need replacing
Replace feeder vacuum valves (see Sec-
tion 3.5.10)
Miss feeds occurring in all bins
Vacuum pump is worn or faulty
Replace Vacuum pump motor (see Sec-
tion 3.6.3)
Bin feeding doubles
Too little separation
Increase by moving the separator
adjustment lever up by a small amount
Paper Separator Plate needs adjusting
Adjust Separator Stop Plate (see Sec-
tion 3.5.8)
Machine does not stop for miss or dou-
ble feeds (DigiVAC Standard only)
The machine is in 'test mode', indicated
by a flashing point at the right hand end
of the display
Switch the machine off and then on
again. Be sure that no keys are pressed
whilst switching on
