Tip:
To set all the bins in the machine into calibration mode, hold down
an on/off button on each module whilst switching on the mains power.
5. Set the bin separation lever to its minimum setting (lower most)
6. Put the calibration paper into the bin and push fully in. From the rear of the
machine, push the steel nip roller down and pull the paper through so that
it is positioned between the emitter/sensor. Release the nip roller when the
paper is set in position.
7. Locate the adjuster potentiometer for the appropriate bin on the 900-174
feeder control PCB. Using a small electrical screwdriver, turn the screw on
the potentiometer until both the red and yellow bin indicator lights are illu-
minated.
8. Remove the calibration paper from the bin and repeat steps 5. to 7. on any
other bins that require emitter/sensor calibration.
9. When all emitter/sensors are calibrated, replace the rear conveyor and side
covers.
10. Test machine operation.
3.5.7 Replacing Tray Sensor
The tray sensor is located on the underside of the paper tray. Its function is to
detect whether paper is loaded in the bin, and when the last sheet from the
stack is fed. If the sensor is faulty, the bin will not function and the sensor must
be replaced.
In normal operation, when the bin is switched on,
• the green bin indicator light is lit when there is paper in the bin (i.e. the
sensor is covered)
• the green bin indicator light flashes when the bin is empty (i.e. the sen-
sor is not covered.
In Bin Test Mode (see Section 3.1.1):
• the green bin linking light flashes when the sensor is covered
Procedure
1. Disconnect the DigiVAC from the mains power supply.
2. Remove the L/H side cover from the bin module with the faulty sensor.
3. Disconnect the faulty tray sensor cable from the 900-174 feeder control
PCB.
