Step 1. Power on and reset it, and warm it up for at least 30 minutes. Step 2. Connect the
device as shown in Fig.7.9.
Step 3. Set the vector signal generator:
Continuous wave 900 MHz and power level 0 dBm.
Step 4. Set the tested vector signal generator as follows:
Base Base ON; Modulation Type QPSK; Symbol Rate 4M; filter root Nyquist α=0.3; I/Q I/Q
Modulation Source INT
Step 5. Set the vector signal analyzer to measure EVM and original offset as follows:
Frequency 900 MHz
Symbo Rate 4MHz
Modulation Type QPSK
Modulation filter Transmitter filter RRC Receiver filter RRC
Measurement filter RRC ALFA/BT 0.3
EVM and Original OFFSET displayed by the vector signal analyzer are the tested EVM and
original offset.
Step 6. Test the EVM and original offset of the tested vector signal generator at 1.8 GHz,
2.4 GHz, 6 GHz, 12 GHz, 18 GHz, 24 GHz, and 35 GHz according to the above steps.
4) Internal modulation bandwidth test
a) Test description
This test is used to verify whether the internal modulation bandwidth of the vector signal
generator is acceptable.
b) Test block diagram
The same as the Fig.7.9

d) Test procedures
Step 1. Power on and reset it, and warm it up for at least 30 minutes. Step 2. Connect the
device as shown in Fig.7.9.
Step 3. Set the vector signal generator:
Continuous wave 900 MHz, power level 0 dBm, and
RF on.
Step 4. Set the tested vector signal generator as follows:
Multi Tone Multi Tone ON Tone Count 51
Freq Interval 2.4 MHz (option H31: 4 MHz).
Step 5. Set up the signal analyzer as follows:
Center Freq 900 MHz Ampl
0 dBm
Span
300 MHz
Ampl 1 dB/Div Trace Max. Hold
With the delta frequency marker function of the signal analyzer, the power difference between
the maximum and minimum power points is divided by 2 to get the modulation frequency
response.
Step 6. Test the frequency responses of the tested vector signal generator at 1.8 GHz, 2.4
GHz, 6 GHz, 18 GHz, and 35 GHz respectively according to the above steps.
5) External modulation bandwidth test
a) Test description
This test is used to verify whether the external modulation bandwidth of the vector signal
