IMPORTANT!
If you need to add, remove or modify a subtitle event within a subtitle reel, then the entire track file
(reel) should be replaced. Do not insert a subtitle XML file in the middle of an existing Subtitle Track file in an
attempt to update that reel. Simply remove the old subtitle track file and use a new complete XML file in its place.
Use the following steps to manually add a subtitle track file to the project timeline:
1.
Place the timeline cursor at the timecode position that the first frame of the new track is to begin at. For subtitle
track files this is normally at the video and audio reel boundary. In this example, the timeline cursor has been
positioned at the start of the timeline (00:00:00:00) in order to insert the Subtitle Track file at the beginning of
reel 1.
`
Click the Asset
Overlay
command to select the subtitle XML file to add to the timeline.
2.
Using the pop-up file browser, select the subtitle XML file to be added to the project timeline and click
Select
.
Note:
Subtitle XML files are stored within the VTP project in a directory whose name corresponds to the
UUID of that file. Each subtitle track file or reel is stored in its own directory along with any associated
asset files (e.g. font or graphic overlay files).
3.
The selected subtitle track file is now placed on the project timeline as depicted in the graphic below. Repeat
this process (steps 1 – 4) to add additional subtitle track files to the timeline.
