Chapter 8 Crane operation
185
Caution!
Abrupt crane movements can make the load swing. Consequently the
load may fall down. This creates an acute risk of fatality for the
operator and others.
Carry out all crane movements smoothly.
x
Grasp the operating lever of the crane function firmly.
x
Press the lever slowly until the crane responds.
x
Observe the capacity indicator (refer to 'Paltronic 150 standard safety equipment ' in chapter 5).
x
If the yellow range is reached, reduce the working speed.
x
Lift the load a little and check whether it is correctly attached and stays in the intended position.
Caution!
If loads are not lifted from directly below the pulley head in rope winch
operation:
x
The load may swing uncontrollably;
x
The rope, the pulley head and the pulley can be
damaged;
x
The rope may run out off the roller of the pulley head;
x
The rope may break;
The load may fall down. There is then an acute risk of fatality for the
operator and others.
x
If a rope winch is used, the pulley head must always be positioned above the center of gravity of
the load that is being lifted.
x
Move the lifted load so that it does not swing.
x
When the load turns or swings:
x
Crane movements are not allowed until the load has stopped moving.
x
Load / boom system must not hit any obstacles.
x
Moving the lever further will cause the crane to move faster.
