AOS system
Purpose
The active oscillation suppression system (AOS) serves for damping and suppressing vertical
oscillations of boom and load.
These oscillations may be caused by:
x
putting down or lifting up loads in a jerky movement;
x
changing the boom speed in a jerky movement;
x
stopping vertical boom motions in a jerky movement;
x
quickly unloading the boom (e.g. by emptying a concrete bucket).
Automatic AOS function: damping of boom oscillations while hydraulic boom functions are being
operated.
Manual AOS function: damping of boom oscillations while any hydraulic boom function is not actuated.
Function
Note!
AOS is only possible in the radio remote operation mode.
Oscillations of the boom cause quick pressure changes in the lifting cylinder. With activated AOS
system Paltronic controls the lifting cylinder with compensating movements. The boom oscillations get
damped for up to 3 seconds after the last hydraulic movement of the main boom.
Note!
Main boom movements that are intended by the operator are possible
during the damping process.
For AOS operation see ‘Crane operation, Working with loads’.
