Planning I/O Addresses and Resources (ISA boards
only)
1. To save time later, take the time to plan the I/O addresses and
resources in advance when setting switches and jumpers on the
boards and then run the configuration program to match the
addresses.
2. Determine the input/output (I/O) address range(s) of the ISA
bus (combined with the carrier board offset) to be used and
make sure there are no address conflicts.
3. Determine in advance whether any additional resources
(Memory, DMA, and IRQ) will be used and make sure there
are no resource conflicts.
Installing Instrument Boards on the Carrier Boards
The following steps are required to install PC boards on a carrier
board:
1. Turn the power off to the carrier boards’ platform by pressing
the appropriate power switch on the front the GTXI platform.
2. Open the front door of the GTXI system platform:
a) Loosen the two retaining screws on the top corners of the
door.
b) Pull gently on the handle of the door until the door opens.
