Installing the GTXI-700 for Bus Extender Mode
As a bus extender system, the host computer must be configured to
operate the GTXI-700 and its boards:
1. Turn off the host computer.
DIP Switches
Figure 2-13: GTXI-701PCT Bus Expander Board
2. Set the GTXI-701-PCT Bus Expander Board to the desired
base address by setting the SEL0 and SEL1 on the DIP
switches. (see Table 2-1)
The DIP switches on a GTXI-701PCT board are labeled:
Disable
All MEM
IRQ DMA
SEL1
SEL0
ON=0
The last four switches (DMA, IRQ, MEM, and ALL) are set by
default to OFF (set to the down position). This position enables
these signals through the transmitter board and makes them
available for the boards installed in the platform. In the ON
position, these switches can also be used to disable the signals
from passing through the transmitter board and makes them
available only for boards installed in the host PC. These
switches are useful for resolving conflicts between DMAs and
IRQs.
