GTXI User's Guide

Power Supply for the GTXI-700 (Bus Extender Mode)

When the GTXI-701 Bus Extender Board is used to connect the
GTXI-700 to a host PC, the instrument boards use two dedicated
power supplies and a cooling system. The main power supply is
connected to slots 7-13 and the Auxiliary power supply is
connected to slots 0-6. When the power is turned off, boards can be
plugged in or removed without affecting the host PC. Both power
supplies must be on to operate any board in the chassis.

Local Bus

Some applications require interconnections between the
instruments. The GTXI-700 offers an internal, 22-line local bus for
intercard signal transfers. See Figure 1-13.

The GT7700 and GT7710 both offers an internal, 22-line local bus
for intercard signal transfers between ISA cards, with six of the ISA
bus common lines common to the PCI bus as well. See Figure 1-14.
