15.1.5 Configuration of beam-stream process data via RS 485 Modbus interface
The following possibilities are available for obtaining evaluation-function process data (e.g., for beam-
stream):
• Polling method I – by means of RS 485 Modbus read function
The desired
beam-stream object
evaluation function parameters (group 13) are read out in sequence
by means of a read telegram.
• Polling method II – by means of RS 485 Modbus read function
The desired evaluation functions in parameter
Process data settings
(group 6) are mapped and only
the
Status process data object
object parameter (group 13) is read out by means of a read telegram.
This method is limited to 16 evaluation functions.
• Autosend method (see chapter 14.4)
The desired evaluation functions in parameter
Process data settings
(group 6) are mapped (and, if
necessary, mapped in parameter
Extended process data settings
(group 6)) and automatically sent
by means of activated autosend mode.
Example for polling method I – by means of the RS 485 Modbus read function:
Use the following parameters to read out the individual beam states.
15.2 Example configuration - Mapping of beams 1 … 32 to output pin 2
15.2.1 Configuration of area/output mapping (general)
The following table shows an example configuration for an area mapping to an output. In this example,
beams 1 … 32 are to be applied to output pin 2 on interface X1.
Map beams 1 … 32 to area 01.
