Care, maintenance and disposal
18.1 Cleaning
In the event of dust build-up on the sensor:
Clean the sensor with a soft cloth; use a cleaning agent (commercially available glass cleaner) if nec

18.2 Protective film
A protective film is available for the light curtains that protects the lens cover against dusts and liquids.
• The receiver of the light curtain signals soiling of the lens cover via the LED indicator (see

18.3 Servicing
Usually, the light curtain does not require any maintenance by the operator.
Repairs to the device must only be carried out by the manufacturer.
For repairs, contact your responsible Leuze subsidiary or Leuze customer service (see chapter 19).

A firmware update can only be performed by Leuze customer service on-site or at the company headquar

For disposal observe the applicable national regulations regarding electronic components.
NOTICE
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents!
Do not use aggressive cleaning agents such as thinner or acetone for cleaning the light curtains.
Use of improper cleaning agents can damage the lens cover.
NOTICE
The lens cover of the light curtain must be dry and free of dust and grease.
The protective film must be affixed on the lens cover free of air bubbles.
Soiled protective film can be pulled off by hand and replaced.
Brand new protective film slightly reduces the operating range limit of the light curtain.
Because the operating range limit of the light curtain significantly exceeds the operating range, the pro

tective film does not typically reduce the operating range.
