2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cords and
all external cables.
3. Remove the server from the rack; then, remove the cover (see “Removing the
cover” on page 60).
4. Disconnect any cables from the adapter.
5. If the riser-card assembly is an optional PCI-X riser-card assembly, disconnect
the riser-card power cable from the riser-card assembly.
6. Grasp the riser-card assembly at the front and rear edges and lift to remove it
from the server.
7. Place the riser-card assembly on a flat, static-protective surface.
8. Carefully grasp the adapter by its top edge or upper corners, and pull the
adapter from the riser-card assembly.
9. If you are instructed to return the adapter, follow all packaging instructions, and
use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to you.
Installing an adapter
Note:
When the optional Remote Supervisor Adapter II SlimLine is installed in the
server, you can install only a half-length adapter in expansion slot 1.
