Removing the riser-card assembly
To remove the riser-card assembly, complete the following steps:
1. Read the safety information that begins on page vii and “Installation guidelines”
on page 57.
2. Turn off the server and peripheral devices, and disconnect the power cord and
all external cables.
3. Remove the server from the rack and place it on a flat, static-protective surface.
4. Remove the cover (see “Removing the cover” on page 60).
5. Disconnect any cables from the adapters in the riser-card assembly.
6. If the riser-card assembly is an optional PCI-X riser-card assembly, disconnect
the riser-card power cable from the riser-card assembly.
7. Grasp the riser-card assembly at the front and rear edges and lift to remove it
from the server. Place the riser-card assembly on a flat, static-protective
surface.
8. If you are instructed to return the riser-card assembly, follow all packaging
instructions, and use any packaging materials for shipping that are supplied to
you.
