The baseboard management controller heatbeat LED flashes to indicate that the
mini-BMC is functioning correctly.
The standby power LED is lit whenever the server is connected to ac power.
Diagnostic programs and messages
The diagnostic programs are the primary method of testing the major components
of the server. As you run the diagnostic programs, text messages are displayed on
the screen and are saved in the test log. A diagnostic text message indicates that a
problem has been detected and provides the action you should take as a result of
the text message. A diagnostic text message or error code indicates that a problem
has been detected; to determine what action you should take as a result of a
message or error code, see the table in “Diagnostic messages” on page 140.
The diagnostic programs are on the Diagnostics CD that comes with the server.
Have the CD handy, or download the latest version of the diagnostics programs
from the Lenovo Web site and create a new CD.
The diagnostic programs do not support USB CD-ROM drives. If you run the
diagnostic programs while any USB CD-ROM drives are attached to the server,
ignore any optical drive test results that are returned for USB CD-ROM drives. To
