3.10.6 Precautions for use of multiple optional LAN adapters installed in addition
In an environment where multiple optional LAN adapters are installed in addition, there
may be cases when the expected performance is not reached on each LAN adapter due to
frequent interrupt requests from each LAN adapter or an excessive amount of data to be
processed. (Interrupt requests from LAN adapters require high CPU load relative to the
amount of data to be processed. When multiple LAN adapters are installed and used, it
requires a very long time for the CPU to complete processing of all the interrupt requests
from multiple LAN adapters.)
Where multiple LAN adapters are installed and used, check if the expected performance is
reached on each built-in LAN adapter and additionally installed LAN adapter. If not,
either adjust the load imposed by the network or change the LAN adapter settings
according to the procedure below. Refer details of each setting parameter to the help text
in the relevant display image.
1. Do steps 1 through 4 in Subsection 3.10.3, “How to set up link speed and duplex
mode”.
