7.5.2 Copy command for memory dump file—mdump
INPUT FORMAT
mdump [-n | -e
filename
]
copy_destination_path
mdump [/? | -?]
PARAMETER
[-n | -e
filename
]:
This set of options and parameter specifies whether to perform compression in the
copy operation and which file is selected for the copy operation. Omission of these
options copies the system-defined memory dump file in a compressed file.
-n: Specifies copying without compression.
-e
filename
: Specifies expanding the specified source file, which has been
compressed by the previous execution of the mdump command. Use of “-e”
option always requires a file name.
copy_destination_path
:
If not preceded by “-e” option, this parameter specifies the copy destination path
including the drive name. When the memory dump file is to be copied into a
subdirectory, specify the full path including the directory. If preceded by “-e” option,
this parameter specifies the destination directory to save expanded files.
FUNCTION
When only the copy destination path is specified, the mdump command copies both
the memory dump files collected by Microsoft® Windows® as set up in the “System
Properties” window (“Startup and Recovery” group box in
Advanced
tab) and all
Small Memory Dump files under “Minidump” directory to the specified destination
in a portable medium at a STOP error on the Equipment. In the copy destination, a
compressed file named “memory.mcf” is saved. If the same file name is found in the
destination, the existing file will be overwritten.
When “-e” option is specified together with the copy destination path, the mdump
command expands the compressed file.
When no parameter is specified, or when /? or -? is specified, the mdump command
displays help on how to perform the memory dump operation. Such help is also
displayed when an error exists in the parameter specifying of the mdump command
intended for copying of memory dump file.
