7.5.3 Disk area allocation command for saving memory dump file—createdmp
INPUT FORMAT
createdmp
FUNCTION
The createdmp command judges the memory dump settings in the Equipment and, if
the Equipment is judged capable of collecting the specified type of memory dump,
allocates a disk area for saving the memory dump file by creating a blank memory
dump file. As a result, possible failure in collecting the memory dump due to shortage
of the disk capacity can be avoided.
The createdmp command successfully allocates “installed memory size + 10 MB” disk
area only when all the requirements below are met. If not successful, the createdmp
command ends in an error. Ensure the settings of memory dump parameters according
to Subsection 7.3.5, “Various setup procedures relating to memory dump,” and then
execute the createdmp command again.
Complete Memory Dump is specified.
The memory dump file name input is correct.
Overwriting the memory dump file name is enabled.
There is 10 % or more free space left in the pertinent disk partition after the area for
saving the memory dump file is allocated.
MESSAGE
When execution of the createdmp command finishes normally, it ends without
displaying anything. When execution of the createdmp command ends in an error, one
of the error messages below is displayed.
