1.1 Overview and Features
The HIOKI IM7580 Impedance Analyzer is an impedance measuring instrument that has achieved high
speed and high accuracy.
The IM7580 combines the functionality of two devices: an impedance analyzer that can perform frequency
and sweep measurement of measurement signal, and an LCR meter that can simultaneously display up
to four parameters under a single set of measurement conditions.
A wide range of measurement conditions can be set and the instrument can be used across a broad
range of applications such as measurement of high frequency inductors.

Measuring frequency of IM7580 is from 1 MHz to 300 MHz.
• Measurement signal level is from -40 dBm to +7 dBm.
Fast measurement
Measurement speed is 0.6 ms (typical value) at the fastest.
Graph display
The measurement frequency and sweep function of measurement level
allow frequency characteristics and level characteristics to be measured
and displayed as a graph on the color LCD display of the instrument.
Cole-Cole plot and admittance pie graph can also be easily displayed.

circuit analysis
It provides five types of equivalent circuit models for circuit elements and
components.
CONTINUOUS
measurement mode
Capable of continuous measurements using measurement conditions
stored in the memory of the instrument. This function enables making
pass/fail judgment with different measurement conditions.
(Example: Performs C-D measurement with 1 MHz and Ls measurement
with 100 MHz in succession.)
Various interfaces
supported
Support with the most suitable EXT I/O (handler interface), USB, GP-IB,
RS-232C, and LAN for production lines.
* GP-IB and RS-232C are optional.
Comparator

Capable of making HI/IN/LO pass/fail judgments based on the
measured values for the four parameters.

Capable of making pass/fail judgment for sweep measurement results.
BIN function
With LCR mode, the rank can be divided up to 10 classifications based
on the measured values.
