5.3 Starting work with emulsion

On the tank vehicle set a pressure of approx.
0.5 bar.

Danger
Danger of burning!
Check immediately that all hoses, hose cou-
plings as well as taps and pipelines are leak
tight.
In case of leaks shut down the system immedi-
ately.
The system must only be restarted after the
cause of auf the fault has been determined and
rectified.
Venting the system

Main switch (b) (Fig. 181) in On-position

Set the selector switch for foam bitumen/emul-
sion (d) to position "Emulsion".

Check whether the thermal oil temperature (f)
(Fig. 182) has reached the nominaöl value.

Danger
Maximum thermal oil temperature for emul-
sion: 80 °C!

On the potentiometer for binder quantity (m)
(Fig. 183) adjust a flow rate of approx. 50 l/min.

Set the selector switch for spraying/circulation
(k) to position "Spraying".

Open the middle spraying section (n).
