Test (Alt + T).
The
Test
button speaks a sample sentence to demonstrate the
current voice, volume, and rate settings.
Voice Manager (Alt + G).
Selecting this button accesses the
Voice Manager
menu, which can be used to transfer and receive synthetic voice files to and
from a computer.
When Speak is selected.
The
When Speak is selected. . .
group box contains
three radio buttons with options for the
Speak
key on the DynaWrite
keyboard. When the
Speak
key is selected, the device will speak the text in
the Message Window. You may opt to have the device speak only the last
sentence of the text (Alt + S). The
Speak
key may also be set to speak the
last paragraph of the text (Alt + P). The final option is to have the device
speak all text in the message window every time it is selected (Alt + A).
The
When Speak is selected. . .
group box also includes a
Clear after Speak
check box (Alt + E). When this check box is selected, text in the Message
Window will be automatically deleted after it is spoken by the DynaWrite.
Speak on entry (Alt + K).
Selecting the
Speak on entry
check box will
cause the DynaWrite to speak each word individually as it is placed into the
Message Window. Each word is spoken as soon as you select the space bar
to move on to the next word. If
Speak on entry
has not been selected, text
will be spoken only when the
Speak
key has been selected on the keyboard.
Speak on punctuation (Alt + U).
Selecting the
Speak on punctuation
check
box will cause the DynaWrite to speak each sentence as it is completed in
the Message Window. Each sentence is spoken as soon as you select a
punctuation mark to end it. If
Speak on punctuation
has not been selected,
text will be spoken only when the
Speak
key has been selected on the
keyboard.
Pronunciations (Alt + N).
The
Pronunciations
button brings up the
Pronunciations
menu, which lets you provide a unique phonemic spelling
for any word that your speech synthesizer mispronounces.
