Tip:
When adding multiple commands, try to give them names with
different starting letters. For example, use
Dining room Lights
On
and
Kitchen Lights On
instead of
Turn on dining room lights
and
Turn on the kitchen lights
. This technique allows you to
select items in the
Available commands
list box by selecting
only the first letter of each command name.
Learn (Alt + L).
The
Learn
button is used to teach your DynaWrite device
the infrared signal for the currently highlighted command. When you are
teaching DynaWrite the infrared commands for a consumer device such as a
TV or stereo, you’ll need the remote control for the appliance you want the
DynaWrite to learn to control. This procedure isn’t necessary for X10
commands as they are pre-programmed.
Delete (Alt + D).
The
Delete
button erases the currently highlighted
command. When this button is selected, a confirmation window will appear,
asking you to confirm that you want to delete the item. Be careful, once a
command is deleted, you cannot get it back.
Rename (Alt + R).
The
Rename
button takes you to a window where you
may give the currently highlighted command a new name. A text box in this
window will show the command’s current name. Type in the corrected name
and then select
OK
(Alt + O) to accept the changes or
Cancel
(Alt + C) to
return to the
ECU
menu without saving the change.
Invoke (Alt + I).
Selecting the
Invoke
button causes your DynaWrite device
to execute the currently highlighted command.
Close (Alt + C).
This button closes the
ECU Browser
menu and returns you
to the
Tools
menu.
