In the Message Window, type your new abbreviation and then select
the space bar. The abbreviation you chose should be automatically
expanded into your full name. No other selections are necessary.

Communication can also be made more efficient with the use of
macros
.
DynaWrite’s macros feature provides you with the ability to create customized
operations which include all the steps for completing a complex procedure in only
a few keystrokes. Macros are especially helpful for phone calls you make often.
For example, you may want to create a macro for calling a friend and asking him
or her to come over.
Macros can also be combined with the DynaWrite’s environmental control
capabilities. Create macros for activities you do often, like turning on the TV for
favorite programs. A single macro could turn on the living room light, turn on the
television, switch to the sports channel and speak the message “
The hockey game is
about to start
.”

Can the System Be Integrated With Computers?
Your DynaWrite device was shipped with a CD that includes DynaWrite Backup
and Utility software. When this software is installed on your personal computer, it
provides an important resource for DynaWrite information. With this software, text
files and digital sound files can be transferred from your DynaWrite and stored in
your computer. When needed, these files can be easily restored from the
computer to the DynaWrite. This feature allows you to save DynaWrite file space
by editing and storing large files on your computer. It also makes it possible to
use your computer for backup storage space. In fact, your complete DynaWrite
user data, including your selected settings and all of your customized
programming, can be effectively backed up to your computer using the Backup
and Utility software. Backing up is an extremely important process, as it will
prevent the loss of information if anything should ever happen to your device. If
