DynaWrite Reference Guide
Go to the Dictionary menu and make an entry in the user
dictionary for Listen up! I have something to say! For instructions
on creating a new dictionary entry, please see the Vocabulary
Operations
step-by-steps.

In the Message Window, type

Listen up! I have
something to say! will appear in one of the prediction boxes below.
Select the appropriate box and the phrase will appear in the
Message Window. To learn more about the Message Window or
word prediction boxes, please read the
DynaWrite Basics section of
this manual.

Another way to accelerate message composition is to take advantage of the
DynaWrite
abbreviation expansions feature. This feature allows you to define
specific abbreviations for longer words and phrases, thereby reducing the number
of letters you must type for message composition. Once you have defined a
specific abbreviation in the DynaWrite software, the DynaWrite will automatically
expand the abbreviation into the full word or phrase whenever the abbreviation is
typed and followed with a space. For example, you may define
JLS as an
abbreviation for Jane L. Smith . If the abbreviation expansions feature is active,
Jane L. Smith will appear onscreen wherever you type JLS and select the space bar.
This feature can also be used to reduce the keystrokes needed for greetings,
introductions and questions. Learn how to create your own unique abbreviation
expansions by reviewing the
Rate Enhancement Operations step-by-steps.

To experiment with the abbreviation expansion feature, follow this
example:
Go to the Abbreviation Expansions menu and define an
abbreviation for your full name. Instructions for creating a new
abbreviation expansion can be found in the
Rate Enhancement
Operations
step-by-steps. Be sure to remember the abbreviation
you use.
