conditions such as charge, discharge, ambient temperature,
etc. are not maintained within the specified ranges, the life
expectancy of the battery may be shortened or the device in
which the battery is used may be damaged by electrolyte
leakage. If the batteries cannot maintain a charge for long
periods of time, even when they are charged correctly, this
may indicate that it is time to change the battery.
Replacing the Battery
Replacement batteries for your DynaWrite device can be purchased through
DynaVox Systems. Please speak to your local representative or call us at
1-800-344-1778. For safe and proper operation of your DynaWrite device, use
only chargers, batteries and accessories which have been approved by
DynaVox Systems LLC.
To replace your DynaWrite’s battery, follow the steps below.
Caution:
To prevent the loss of data, we strongly recommend that
you back up all your DynaWrite text files and user data
before replacing the battery.
Caution:
To prevent damage to your DynaWrite device, do not use
batteries that have been stored for more than one year.
1. Turn off the DynaWrite device and disconnect any accessories.
2. The battery door is located on the bottom of your DynaWrite, between
the label and the speaker. It is held in place by two screws. Use a
screwdriver to loosen these screws and carefully remove the door.
3. Lift out the battery.
4. The battery is attached to the circuit board by a small square connector at
the end of a short length of wire. Grasp the wire near the connector, and
carefully pull the connector free of the circuit board.
Caution:
The DynaWrite’s internal battery will maintain your files
and user data for thirty seconds after the battery is
disconnected. To prevent any information loss, be sure to
connect a new battery within thirty seconds.
